The National Academy of Social Insurance plays a valuable nonpartisan role in this process by providing policymakers, leaders, journalists, educators, and the public with information and expertise about the nation’s social insurance programs. The Academy works with its Members and partners to provide objective, fact-based analyses, policy options, and answers to questions facing policymakers at all levels. MORE ABOUT THE ACADEMY
The Academy is made up of over 1,100 of the nation’s leading experts on Social Security, Medicare, Workers’ Compensation, Unemployment Insurance, and related programs. Each year, individuals who have achieved high levels of professional distinction are elected to the Academy. Within the Academy’s Membership is a broad spectrum of disciplines and perspectives, providing our work with comprehensive technical expertise and a variety of viewpoints. The Academy’s work is overseen by a Board of Directors representing diverse sectors, including business, labor, and academia.
We fulfill our mission – to advance solutions to challenges facing the nation by increasing public understanding of how social insurance contributes to economic security – through research-based publications, expert convenings, leadership development programs, and other educational outreach.
